Bangladesh will participate in the First International Youth Green Games to be held in the Mongolian capital Ullanbataar from September 13-19 this year.
Director General of Bangladesh Olympic Association Brigadier General (Retd) Fakhruddin Haider said, “We’ve confirmed our participation in the games to OCA (Olympic Council of Asia).”
The game is open to all the 195 member countries of the United Nations and will be held under its sustainable development goals.
It is a game of mainly UN countries to aware youth about the environment and that is why the name of the games is Green.
A lot of Olympic events like archery, athletics, basketball, chess, cricket, fencing, football, judo, shooting, swimming, table tennis, taekwondo, volleyball and wrestling are likely to be included in the ensuing games.
“We’ll participate in many disciplines of sports like athletics, shooting, swimming, however, the discipline of sports yet to finalized” Haider added.
It is a new game where young athletes of 18 years age group will be entitled to participate.
